The left hook, perhaps the only punch Ali was ever truly vulnerable to. It wasn't long before Freddie Sr. So my dad runs into the bathroom, grabs a towel, wipes the blood off Ali's face, jumps in his '75 Stingray, and hauls ass out of there," Prinze says.
It says, 'June 7, Ali's Blood. I went back to the house, went into my mom's closet, and I grabbed her gun. Less than two years later, though, Freddie Prinze Sr. The courts would eventually rule Prinze's death an accidental shooting rather than a suicide.
Prinze's mother, Kathy, immediately packed up her things and moved with her month-old son from Los Angeles to Albuquerque, desperate to avoid any future for her son in L.
For years, no one told Prinze the truth about his father's death. How could they? Instead, they avoided the subject altogether. If he pushed hard enough, they would tell a tale about too many prescription pills.
He shot himself in the head! I remembered my mom looking away every time she'd say it. Or my grandma looking up and just saying, 'Oh, he was so wonderful. So I went back to the house, went into my mom's closet, and I grabbed her gun. This is not a story he has shared with many people. Prinze rarely wavers from his laid-back demeanor; nearly every sentence is punctuated with a laugh. People have often left him gifts of weed at hotel lobbies, just because they assume he's a stoner.
But he's also ardent and forthright; when people approach him on the street to say how much they love him—and this happened precisely But when he starts to well up, it's anything but awkward.

He theorized that Freddie was so despondent and depressed in general because he was gay and in the closet. I have no idea if this is true, but that's what the impression was of someone who worked with him for a few years.
I recognize a few items in his bio here that might actually point to it. Theorized that he was gay? Sorry, but I don't put much stock into someone who worked with him for awhile and "theorized" that they knew all about his sexuality. Those who knew him much better such as his family and close friends and those who he grew up with have stated that he was despondent and depressed because he was undiagnosed bipolar.
Back in the seventies, this wasn't addressed as it is today. The particular drugs he was taking were also the worse thing someone with this disease could take, making depression almost unbearable.
Not that it matters, but as far as his sexually, his family and close friends have come out and said he was always absolutely obsessed with women, even from a young age.Washington Heights, New York City (Birthplace of Freddie Prinze, Sr.) This is a view of Washington Heights from the top of the Jersey tower of the George Washington Bridge().
